Boys High School and Youth Programs

We offer the following programs for boys in grades 1 through 12. The program is based on strictly on grade level, and we do not move younger boys up into older programs - unless we are short on numbers for a team.

  • High School (Varsity and JV) - $750
  • U14 Senior Youth (7th/8th grade) - $450
  • U12 Junior Youth (5th/6th grade) - $350
  • U10 Bantam Youth (3rd/4th grade) - $300
  • U8 Youth (1st/2nd grade) - $165

The lacrosse season starts with indoor practices in January. The number of practices per week depends on the program and the indoor facilities that are available.

Boys Lacrosse Equipment

Boys must have the proper equipment as stated by US Lacrosse.

  • Helmet (white for high school)
  • Mouth guard
  • Chest pad that meets current cardiac standards
  • Protective cup
  • Arm/elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Cleats
  • Complete stick for the position played

See page 3 of the US Lacrosse guide for fit requirements

Goalies require additional equipment noted on page 4 of  the US Lacrosse guide for fit requirements

You may purchase equipment at most local sporting goods stores such as Hot 4 Lax, Burghardt's and Dicks, as well as many online retailers.  Additionally, Hot 4 Lax rents boys equipment by the season.

Playing Multiple Sports

We encourage kids to play other sports to become well-rounded athletes.  The high school level requires a commitment from the player to be at practices and games during the official season. Please speak with your coach if you are participating in other sports or activities during preseason.

School Sport/Classic 8

Lacrosse is not a school sport at Mukwonago High School, but the Mukwonago Lacrosse Club follows the MHS eligibility rules and Code of Conduct. As such, all MHS students who play lacrosse are eligible to receive letters and scholar athlete awards.

While lacrosse is an official school sport in some of our surrounding school districts, it has not been recognized as an official sport by the WIAA.  We are hopeful that the WIAA will bring lacrosse into the schools in the near future. It is recognized by the Classic 8 Conference that includes:

  • Arrowhead
  • Brookfield
  • Catholic Memorial
  • Kettle Moraine
  • Mukwonago
  • Muskego High School
  • Oconomowoc
  • Waukesha North
  • Waukesha South
  • Waukesha West

Players from Outside the Mukwonago School District

If there is no lacrosse club in your area, you may co-op with a team from another area. The boundary rules are very strict and vary between the youth and high school programs.  Please contact the director of the program to find out if we co-op with your area.

Coach Training

All of our coaches are at a minimum, Level I certified through US Lacrosse Training Programs.  Many of our coaches are Level II certified and at the High School level, Level III certified.
